day 2

For the surgery they gave me an injection of morphine in the spine, which required a couple of things.. to stay in the hospital overnight and get a catheter.. long story short – morphine in the spine is as good as you would expect and…

I am Home and Sore!

Staying overnight introduced me to three very nice people.

A 41 year old gentlemen who worked shipping and receiving at the port who went head first into the boards playing hockey. He was paralyzed for 24 hours from the neck down and has been slowly regaining feeling and motion throughout his body.

A mother, with four children who broke her leg clean in two skating with santa!

An older gentleman, in his early 80′s who fell and broke his hip which required a titanium rod to be hammered and screwed into his fragmented hip.

That was an eye opener. I have it pretty good.

I am happy to be home, to be able to relax and eat some home cooked meals – my three hospital roommates are still waiting for the day they get to do the same.

I should have an update about the surgery tomorrow.
